So I just wanted to give everyone an update on life here in Florida. At the end of last month my apartment had an inspection which I think is supposed to happen every month or every other month. Basically they come in to make sure the apartment is clean and we haven't damaged it. We passed of course but were asked to take down some of our decorations. We have vinyl decals all over the apartment so our apartment isn't so plain and they cause no damage to the walls, they're still up. :-)
For the past two weeks at work I have been sent to a store other than my own which I hope isn't not too frequent. Last week I worked at Pooh Corner, which sells Winnie the Pooh and friends items, and Mickey's Pantry, which sells kitchen items. I found Pooh Corner and Mickey's Pantry both kind of boring because the stores are smaller than my regular store. This week I have been working at the Christmas store and yesterday I worked at The Wonderful World of Memories. I have to admit that I am not happy about working at the Christmas store and I've been counting down the days till this week is over. The Christmas store's costume is a skirt which I don't like wearing skirts. I also do not particularly enjoy the Christmas holiday so that didn't help and hearing Christmas songs in March is just plain weird to me. The only bonus in working at the Christmas store is that it is very busy which makes time go by faster but on the other hand every time we ring a guest up we usually have to wrap their items because it is something breakable so that hasn't been fun. Yesterday I got to work at The Wonderful World of Memories which sells picture frames, coloring books, scrapbooking items, AND Mickey Ears! I got to learn to use the machine that sews guests' names on their ears which I thought was fun to watch the little kids' faces light up when they saw their names go on their ears! I wish I worked at that store more! :-)
Now on to the non work aspect of my life. I have registered for classes at Valencia Community College for the summer. Right now I am considered an out-of-state student but I am taking the steps to prove residency and will be able to change that status in a year. I plan on taking English and Speech online and then I will be taking a math class for 5 weeks on campus. I know taking three classes might be pushing it a little when you look at it from the aspect that I'll be working as well and it is the summer which will be busy for Disney. I did think about that but I have roommates that are good at math and they will help me with that so I feel confident that I'll be fine with these three classes and work. Plus, I have to take these three classes before I can take any other classes here in Florida as part of my general education courses.
Anyone that has seen my facebook is aware that I have been going out to explore Orlando's nightlife. Now before my family starts to worry, I haven't let it affect my work and I haven't been spending a lot of money on going out. I've been going to clubs/bars that I get into for free and I either don't drink there or have one drink. I'm being responsible I promise. I'm glad that I have found people that I love hanging out with. I love being able to go out and have fun and it's nice to be comfortable enough with myself to be goofy and not worry about what someone else thinks and just be myself. For some reason I feel more like myself here than I've felt for a very long time and it's great to be comfortable in my own skin. My life is defintely good here in Florida and I wouldn't change it. :-)
